Trying Out Polymer Clay Crafting {First Time}

So being as a craftlover, I decided to try out a new craft to master! Polymer clay crafting (a far cry from sculpting).

Its because lately, I've been thinking about chibis, small figures with large eyes. I have been drawing them since I was young, seeing them in TV (Asian, yeah!) and I love some of the Japanese anime cartoons especially the 1990s one -- and they always posses those puppy dog eyes and vibrantly colored dresses and you name it! Everything awesome.

So this week, I gave it a try after watching on youtube some tips and tricks and step by step. My first chibi is from the far right. I call her "Leaf Maiden", the second one "Mademoiselle Rouge" (I just love red hair!) and the third one, well let's say "Sweet Stranger". I will try to label and name each chibi as I can!

I also made a list of chibis I am going to make in the future. Among them are: Scooby Doo characters, Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys, Little Prince Cedie (Lord Fauntleroy), Heidi Swiss Alps cartoon and many more.

New Kid On the Block

Because I just moved to California, I refer to myself as a "new kid on the block", hence I decided to try color blocking (punning much)! My Aunt, surprised me one day and ta-dah! I got a new dress. Since they were both solid colors, I thought of buying a cardigan with a different color to complete my color blocking scheme. This cardigan has a pretty lace design at the back and unfortunately, I didn't get to shot it. However, you will see it in future OOTDs.

I am slowly collecting clothes too since I gave 80% of my apparel to my friends in IA before I left. It's a relief and a change in perspective too! Another chance to build up my wardrobe. As for my Aunt, she is one awesome fashionista so we're kinda like shopping buddies too. She's been dressing me up since I was a baby! Ain'y she the coolest aunt in the whole world? YEP! :)

Garnier Curl Styling Mousse Review

I've been obsessing about curls this week. Everyday I would work on my hair and mutter to myself, "Do CURLS, Gifty... Just go, go, go."  And that means adding more time to my makeup and hair time but it really helps when you have a curling wand that is efficient and Garnier mousse. Oh how I love that stuff!

Revlon headband

Hubby bought this as a birthday gift to me (Ontario Mills Mall) and I'm having so much fun using it.  It really gives me a whole day of curl because of its thin rod that makes the hair very curly.

It gives your hair a little cruch but not too much and after using the curling wand, it remained soft and easy to style! Two thumbs up for this one. This function like a whip cream bottle, just push the stick on top and out comes the fluffy foam of mousse. Apply it on hair and wait for seconds then twirl sections of hair onto the hot curling barrel.

One thing I did is a high ponytail of curls! It gives volume to my limp hair and make it more interesting. Curling doesn't have to be labor intensive -- just use the right tools and you are good!

So that's it you guys! I will definitely be researching more awesome curling products!

Huntington Beach, CA

We went to Huntington Beach actually last week and this week has been crazy so blogging was impossible. Just wanted to share pictures of the fun time we had there. It was so hot! The sand will fry your feet unless you go to the water. So most of the times I was staying under our canopy, reading and chatting with the girls while my hubby boogie boarded his heart out. Enjoy! :)
